traditions around the world…

I loved reading today on Babble about the different traditions cultures around the world practice when a new baby is born.  Did you know that in India, parents can take 3 months – 1 year after a baby is born to decide on the baby’s name?  Sounds like a good way to figure out your baby’s personality before choosing a name for them.

Do you or your family have any special traditions you practice when a new baby is born?  Share them in the comments section!

In Chinese culture, we have a celebration on the 100th day of the baby’s life.  My mom explained to me that it is because by the 100th day, the baby and the new mother are usually strong enough to be able to meet people without as much threat to their health as when the baby first arrived… ~YiShaun
